Affective Disorders Unit Open House

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center held an open house on August 12 to celebrate the opening of their newest unit, Ocean Point. The 20-bed unit was created for adults suffering from affective disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar or PTSD.

Utilizing techniques based on Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness, patients are encouraged to focus on solutions — rather than problems — that will result in realistic and reasonable relief as quickly as possible.

By creating a positive and supportive environment for each patient, yet offering enough challenge and guidance to effect behavioral change, patients can become empowered to create a life worth living. Ultimately, the goal of the Affective Disorders Program is to heal, empower and return the individual to their life as soon as realistically possible.

Ocean Point is Suncoast Behavioral Health Center’s third 20-bed unit to become operational, joining Turtle Cove and Coral Key. Turtle Cove provides care for children and adolescents ages 5-17, while Coral Key provides care for adults and mature adults ages 18 and older.

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a free-standing acute inpatient psychiatric facility located in Bradenton, FL. For more information on one of our units, contact us, or call 941-251-5000.
